In Sweden we have a tradition to have peasoup and pancakes every Thursday. The peasoup is made from yellow dried peas, and is thick and rich. Usually you add lots of pork and sausages and you spice it with strong mustard, marjorie and thyme. As dessert you take thin pancakes with jam and cream. After a lunch like this you are usually a little bit tired.

Both sound delicious and heavenly.
Sounds nicer than Finnish pea soup I tasted – Thursdays too!
I think it’s an acquired taste 🙂 I think it’s a tradition in all Nordic countries..
Sounds good! and those pancakes: just the thought of them makes me happy!
They are thinner than American ones, more like French crepes, and then you add strawberry jam and whipped cream..
reminds me of blintzes. I like those thin pancakes. Lemon sauce is good on them too. Oh my, I think I know what I am fixing for lunch today…..just a few thin pancakes with some of the strawberry jam I put up this summer.
That must taste good, I’m gonna make pancakes today! 🙂
Thursday.. a day for pancakes
Sounds satisfying…we do Swedish-style pancakes for Saturday morning breakfast.

ok, i was not so sure when you said it at first…but as you added things it got a little more palatable…ha
Never change delicious habits 😉
Yes, just keep on with it! A tradition is kept alive! Great lines Bjorn!

Gule ærter!
precis 🙂
Love the little stacks of pancakes… Not sure about the peasoup? Not a real veggie person and peasoup sounds like trickery to eat veggies- even if it is mixed with sausage!
Some habits definitely do not need to be changed!
Sweet Potato Soup
Ha.. yes sometimes the air can be a little thick afterward
Sounds delicieux Björn …
Why indeed. And now I’m hungry. Smiles.
That sounds great and made me hungry, Bjorn. 🙂 — Suzanne
