Purple hazed

In my myopic gaze
your drizzled apparition —
is purple to my failing eyes;
ghostlike, veiled in rain
you, a rainbow specter
who brail to sunshine
only to my probing
fingertips.

You were never sunshine
except when close,
a fogbank to my vision
harbinger of rain;
you, my purple haze.

Today Lisa wants us to incorporate weather in our poetry at dVerse, and also incorporating songs if we can. I took my starting-point in Purple Haze.

  1. Bjorn, I love how you used the prompt. Such a wonderful character study. Also how one might catch a glimpse of how others might see them. Perfect song choice of Prince, The Maestro.
