Spill us glassed,
your sparkling sips
of fairy-green absinthe;
pour us g(r)ins of
shimmered rose-dance,
skip-twist-swirls on ice
and melt our minds tonight.
Breeze us bold and
bring on bacchanals.
Open shadows,
lull with leaves;
let’s bubble-cloud our brains;
unjar and journey us insane.
A second little poem for De using all the words up till now in the dverse quadrille. Bring us Bacchanals!!!
Pour us grins!!! 😉
You beat me, slightly, to the punch this time. It’s getting harder, ain’t it? 😉
It does… but still my first version was less than the 44 so I could flesh it out afterwards…
Should have been pour us g(r)ins
Oh, brilliant! Such debauched atmosphere conjured up here….
And 19 words of 44 where prescribed…
😀
Ooh, gauntlet thrown. I’ll fight you for her. 😉
Very yum:
“sparkling sips
of fairy-green absinth(e)”
“shimmered rose-dance”
“Breeze us bold and
bring on bacchanals.”
Pour us g(r)ins it should have been
Ooh, nice. Just change it now.
And on “absinthe,” I was just saying that it’s supposed to have an “e” at the end.
Ah.. you’re right…
Pour us grins, great metaphor. Until the grins pass out. 🙂
Ha… gin-grins often do.
Wow, amazing what you did with all those words, Bjorn. You made me go back to read again and focus on the words I remember. Great challenge.
I can send you the full list…
Bjorn, could you send me the list too? Much appreciated.
One word: WOW! ❤️
I liked the phrase “bubble-cloud our brains”.
Incredible writing and one of my favorite poems by you. 🙂
The visuals and bubble cloud our brains is spot on. 🙂
I’d like to sip on some “simmered rose dance”. Excellent use of all the quadrille words. Wowsers!
Pour it on bartender till we grin and pass out ~ Amazing weaving of words Bjorn ~
Wow, Bjorn…pretty amazing what those words have produced here…so entertaining!
I believe the skip-twist-swirl is an Olympic event, is it not? Delightful little quadrille.
Brilliant.
Very impressive! Love this delightful tribute to Bacchus.
Lovely stuff! Love it when people can use constraints so effectively. You must be heading towards magnetic poetry by now, if you’re using all the quadrille prompts.
Actually in one of the first Quadrilles I used magnetic poetry in combination with the Quadrille..
Hey, bartender pour me grins, I’d like to add some sparkle to my day. I might have to borrow that line Bjorn. Amazing how you incorporated all the words. I wonder what I could conjure up.
let’s bubble-cloud our brains;
unjar and journey us insane.
This is insane! Beautifully rendered more so with all the words smoothly intruding within!
Hank
A fun read!
