October walk – tanka
October walk –
colours of a dying fall
underneath my feet
the mind flutters like a moth
when my body still remains

Your tanka illustrates the dichotomy between body and mind so very well, there is the sense of transcience in ‘the dying fall’ and the ‘aware’ is strongly felt in this.
Thank you Kerry… a very interesting article.. really made me think, and autumn works so well for the aware..
i like the contrast between mind and body.. lovely.
The mind is like a kite attached to spool at one end but the other end is free to fly. Beautiful.
interesting contrasts in this….the walk to standing still…and then the stillness to the mind that is ever racing…in the woods my thoughts often run….
Ah yes, there is a connection between mind and body … I think walking in nature helps to relax the mind. Lovely tanka … showing transience and awareness 🙂
Mind and body…my mind often goes where my feet can never walk. Sometimes standing still will bring peace to the mind..beautiful tanka
Bjorn, I really like this tanka. Enjoyed the image of a mind fluttering like a moth. I know the feeling. Smiles.
