What the theater cleaner dreamt – Friday Fictioneers

With audience in awe, my authority is heard
my influence can infiltrate, for infinity I’m sold
I exercise extortion, and examples I will set
as glamorously gladiators gladly die for me.
My training tranquillize, I treat myself to this
as emptiness empoison me, and empathy will leave.
And very soon in verbal songs, my voice commands the troops
and foolishly they follow me, they fold to my ideas.
With blood and blades, they blatantly will kill
But as I dream this drama, I drag into what’s real
and swiftly sweep the scene, It’s swell to get my dues

First of all, many apologies for all entries I didn’t visit last week. Many thanks for all the comments. This week I wanted to do it slightly different and do an alliterative verse. This is a little like old English or Norse form where the rhythm is accentuated by alliterations.

Friday Fictioneers is a wonderful and dedicated group of bloggers that write a story or a poem (or both) to the same picture. Rochelle leads this firmly with silken gloves. I appreciate all feedback of course…

  1. Hey Bjorn. Can you tell me what you use to get the blue Linky guy? I have not been able to put that in my Friday Fictioneer since it changed.

  2. Thanks for the introduction to this unique style of verse. At least as far as I’m concerned. Others might be well acquainted with it. 🙂

  3. Dear Bjorn,

i loved this flight of fancy, the title alone is worth the price of admission. (Aren’t all songs verbal?) Your imagination is unfettered and I like that. Keep it up.

    Aloha,

    Doug
