Today Carpe Diem Special is to write a haiku on Jane Reichhold’s haiku.
forgotten brook
running the centuries down
locked in rock
Somehow I get the impression of a glacier stream. It releases the old water from winters long passed. Maybe it’s just the scientist in me trying with a scientific approach-
overdue
glaciers finally release
imprisoned spring

Both are really good. I especially liked the second one.
And thanks for your fun contribution to this week’s Limerick-Off!
I really enjoy limerick’s but they are hard to do..
I just realized that only one of them is yours. Fortunately, that was the one I preferred. 🙂
🙂
overdue – imprisoned spring – those two lines mirror each other beautifully. In keeping with the spirit of Jane’s I’d say it’s a major success.
Thank you Steph 😉
yes – the words flow nicely
Cheers!

Thank you 😉
especially enjoyed the first one — It really brought images to my mind.
The first is not mine, but it’s a beautiful haiku..
You expanded the brook somewhat:)
A little bit more than a brook… waterfalls on Iceland are very impressive.
Ah.. that is lovely. Beautiful imagery.
Thank you 🙂
Okay…this is brilliant…so in tune with JR’s but very much your own.
That’s what I love with the special to write something that’s truly yours
Yes, there is truth and beauty here.
Thank you Cathy. The waterfalls and glaciers on Iceland are truly spectacular
There’s is that nice flow and movement as well as the wonder of discovery in both of them.
Thank you.. yes that is what I wanted to capture in Jane’s haiku
“imprisoned spring”
I’m so glad for spring’s release!
Forgotten Buttons
The first spectacular. I am being terribly presumptuous saying this but but for me “finally” is a redundancy of “overdue” and for that reason I get stuck on the word instead of moving forward. Of course that simply might be my “oldness.” 😉
you have a point… there is room for improvement there… i’ll think about it.
overdue
glaciers’ powerfull release
imprisoned spring
hmmm could work.
That was meant to be “The first is spectacular.”
The first one is definitely spectacular – but it’s not mine 😉
with ‘climate change’, the glacial release is premature now…..
A powerful and beautiful rush. 🙂
Imprisoned spring — is a powerful image you’ve created with minimal wording!! Very nice!!
