My fifth entry in Friday Fictioneers. This picture from Rochelle of a snowy window made me think a long time about the winter we have in front of us here in Sweden. But a little twist was needed, so here we go.
November 1, 2012
The night had been cold, and she shuddered just by looking out. At first it was impossible to say whether the ice was on the inside or on the outside of the window.
Freezing, she realized that she needed him back in the bed for warmth. It had been almost a year now. And maybe he was ready to be invited back.
Ready or not, she could not spend another night like this.
She sighed and prepared for a trip to the hardware store. She definitely needed stronger shackles before releasing him from the basement.

Darkly mysterious!
Indeed 😉
🙂 Nice twist! I hope your long winter is not like this!!
Oh, no I have a nice heater in my basement 🙂
Okay, this was hilarious! Just as I’m getting all warm and cozy thinking of a reconciled marriage, BOOM! She’s on her way to the hardware store!
Hardware stores are great 🙂
Bam!!! Right out of the gate… First story I read this week… Love it!
Thank you 🙂
Wow, ya got me! I was expecting marital discord and found a dark corner instead. Well done.
Thank you 🙂 The unexpected is always what make a story.
Hi Bjorn,
Best bondage story of the week! I suspect you are an expert on this kind of weather! Hope he keeps the bed warm. Ron
I am looking forward to read all other bondage stories 🙂
Love this. Nice twist. Afraid there may be another twist…for once he’s free, I’m afraid she will end up in the basement and he ends up in the warm bed.
You never know. If the shackles hold they might reconcile 🙂
I hope he’s a dog ( laughing ) good one!
That would be animal cruelty to keep a dog in the basement a whole year.
Oh oh…didn’t see that coming, well done
Glad I can surprise
Wow, completely surprised by the ending. Great story, Bjorn!
Thank you Jan, love to surprise
Dear Björn,
This is hysterical! I love the twist. Thanks for my early morning chuckle.
Shalom,
Rochelle
So glad you liked it, hope you were not drinking coffee at the same time.
LOLLL!! Despite being forewarned, I still did not expect that twist!
Well done.
I am here to surprise.
Oh my – somehow I don’t think this situation is as simple as she seems to believe! I’m not sure who or what he is or why he’s locked in the basement, but I see disaster coming – I can’t imagine why she doesn’t. 😉 Well written.
I think he got detention for leaving the toilet seat open.. I am pretty sure the shackles will hold so he can’t do that again.
Sounds like the perfect relationship.
Works perfect for her
shackles huh? now that might be interesting. 😉
🙂
Yikes! Poor guy. The shackles might prove cold and uncomfortable in bed. Nice twist at the end.
But maybe better than his basement cell..
I like this! Reminds me of the movie Pulp Fiction. Great twist!
Twist and shout as the poor shackled guy would say.
Now that’s what I call a twist! I thought she had a crush on the guy from the hardware store – nice work!
A crush with a guy from a hardware store… Ouch, sounds like she would buy a vice then 😉
Dear Bjorn,
Long winters there in Sweden, eh? i enjoyed this dark tale very much.
Aloha,
Doug
Thank you.. winter is usually around two months by our standard. Many other would say 6 months. 😉
You captured the chill of the photo — especially that last line. Brrrr!!
Yes, but maybe even colder in the basement
That is my favorite bondage story since the next to last vignette in Pulp Fiction, though I felt like I wanted to be fumigated afterward! Chilling yet also funny, nice work.
Thank you. A chilling thought is that it would not have been funny at all if roles were reversed…
After a year in the basement, his body may no longer be warm. Good buildup to a successful surprise ending.
Remember a citation from a Bond movie “shared bodily heat”. He will warm up 🙂
LOVED THAT ENDING!! Great job.
Thank you 🙂
Yikes! I didn’t see that coming, but it fit so well with the setup. LOL. Hope his body still offers warmth.
And the shackles hold 🙂
So great! What an ending. I’m relieved that she wasn’t off to the hardware store to recover her ex (is that the wrong answer? 😉 )
Maybe the ex in the hardware store would have been kinder.
