Blood moon lunacy
raging
in his hungry veins
as he’s scrawling innuendo
of hateful rhetoric
sifted from the darkest
pits of internet
on guns and bullets,
and later
as he cocks his gun
takes aim and press the trigger
his boiling blood cools off
just like the moon has settled
into silver.

A few days ago I went out and gazed at the blood-moon of the lunar eclipse, and part of me thought about the violence of the world.

This is incredibly potent, Bjorn! The moon has the tendency to affect us in many ways 💙💙
It was amazing to see a blood moon last week
Yes, it definitely was! 😊
when blood lust is quenched
it drains to silver, pale knowing
peace must rise again
exactly… but how much more blood before
If we only knew…
eclipses are like that, i guess
much♡love
Such a great poem Bjorn!
You’re take on the blood moon and the violence that is happening in our world is relevant. Also, to note I wish I had witnessed the blood moon myself…and the reports here in L.A. said everyone would see it and we didn’t. 😦
Powerful imagery, Björn. We were on the same wavelength with our poems. We’re dealing with hate and gun violence here. I almost added the blood moon into mine, but it didn’t quite work.
A brilliant analogy! The lunacy is definitely mounting. Such a well-chiselled poem.
Very powerful. This applies to the horror we’ve experienced here in Utah. Thank you.
I try not to think of it. You have captured it well though.
You condense the atmosphere and foreboding – and a real sense of both blood and darkness which maybe san turn to light – Jae
Yes, the moon does have a strange effect on some of us, Björn, but what is it with men and guns? You’ve captured the current terrifying atmosphere in ‘hungry veins’ and ‘scrawling innuendo’, and the worrying rise in ‘hateful rhetoric sifted from the darkest pits of internet’.
This full moon certainly has an apt name given events in the world and you evoke a powerful story with the imagery.
Strong poem in these troublesome times, Björn!
A sad day of violence! All too familiar!
Yes, that does sound like the murderer of Charlie Kirk.
You captured the potency of the full moon caught between two eclipses! Powerful!!
Great write Björn 👏
Sadly Luna gives us lunacy. 😢
Great metaphor, angry red rage ebbing into cold silver.
Powerful and timely poem Bjorn!
