Blood moon lunacy

Blood moon lunacy
raging
in his hungry veins
as he’s scrawling innuendo
of hateful rhetoric
sifted from the darkest
pits of internet
on guns and bullets,
and later
as he cocks his gun
takes aim and press the trigger
his boiling blood cools off
just like the moon has settled
into silver.

A few days ago I went out and gazed at the blood-moon of the lunar eclipse, and part of me thought about the violence of the world.

  1. You’re take on the blood moon and the violence that is happening in our world is relevant. Also, to note I wish I had witnessed the blood moon myself…and the reports here in L.A. said everyone would see it and we didn’t. 😦

  2. Powerful imagery, Björn. We were on the same wavelength with our poems. We’re dealing with hate and gun violence here. I almost added the blood moon into mine, but it didn’t quite work.

  3. Yes, the moon does have a strange effect on some of us, Björn, but what is it with men and guns? You’ve captured the current terrifying atmosphere in ‘hungry veins’ and ‘scrawling innuendo’, and the worrying rise in ‘hateful rhetoric sifted from the darkest pits of internet’.
