Rainladen

In the wake of the Midsummer frenzy, the weather has turned colder. Almost like the hangover a slight depression settles in my mind. Soon July vacations will come and the real summer will come. We actually went for a short swim in freezing water on Midsummer’s eve, but today the skies were grey and rain showers followed me when I went for a morning walk.

Today we are writing haibun on Summer/winter with Frank at dVerse Haibun Monday. Midsummer has passed.

  1. I love the sound of the title word, Björn, but I’m sorry the weather isn’t so good for you. I also love the image of the ‘greenery bowing for clouds’.

  2. A “painted” haībun, that complements the picture of Monet v well. One feels the slight angst though….and desperate hope for July….

  3. Björn, your haibun captures that post-Midsummer lull so well. I feel the weight of the grey skies and the mood they cast, softened only by the grace in your closing image.

    Much love,

    David

  4. Our temps have dropped 10C since last week (33C to 23C), and now I’m back to wearing a hoodie. Love this haibun.
