The forest is also a library,
each tree being a book
every bough is a sentence
and now as the spring tiptoes
over moss and pine needles
the birch buds are breaking
and the books turns from
barren prose into poetry
and even the aged librarian
can be seen, subtly smiling
at the faint green shimmer
around the leatherbound
pagers forming his soul.

I love trees as books. Great poem 💚
Gorgeous first line. Love to read the update on the aged librarian enjoying spring season Bjorn. And that spring is also growing inside him.
Wow, Björn, poetry, trees and the ’leather-bound’ aged librarian, your poem is a treat! I especially love the repetition and the ideas in the lines:
‘each tree being a book
every bough is a sentence’
and the alliteration in:
‘the birch buds are breaking
and the books turns from
barren prose into poetry’.
Thank you… the library is taking shape as an idea now.
How lovely that books in their maturity bud into poems. The aged librarian has so much to sing.
So much mundane prose exists that just awaits to bloom.
Lovely Björn. Poem and concept.
It is wonderful to see the aged librarian smile. Love it, Björn.
Great growth and birch-springing as the poem develops – kand so does the smile.
Each tree is a book with a story to tell and I think the librarian has found new growth. I once penned my intentions on white birch tree skin found on the ground and offered it to the healing fires. There are always stories in the forest, my friend.
Brilliant metaphor Bjorn!
Bjorn I feel like the aged librarian is trying to tell you some thing that you haven’t heard yet
I like the imagery of spring tiptoeing over moss.
Love, love this!
Thank you so much Audrey… I have lost the link to your blog …
Oh that image works so well and I love the leatherbound book being the soul of the librarian! I can’t wait for the old librarian poetry book!!
Love this! Marvellous alliteration, and how nice to read
“subtly smiling
at the faint green shimmer
around the leatherbound
pagers forming his soul.”-
You always find the best art Bjorn. I agree about the forest–filled with volumes of all kinds. (K)
Nature is indeed a beautiful story. I loved this ☺️
I love this metaphor–so true–and it’s good to know that even the aged librarian cannot totally resist spring’s charms.
I like the image, too.
