Drunk from spring we wake up early
to a smiling dawn sky, periwinkle pearly
we’re smiling laughing, giggling, shrieking shrilly
drunk in spring when daisies, lilies turn us silly,
we hopscotch barefoot even if it’s chilly
since daffodils and sun won’t make us guilty
Lilian hosts the Quadrille today at dVerse and the word is silly. You have to write the poem in exactly 44 words (excluding title) and include the word silly in the text.

YAY Bjorn! You’ve got the spirit here and I’m smiling broadly! And….daisies are my favorite flowers so you’ve got a very happy reader here 🙂
Silly was funny to play with
This is so much fun, like skipping through a spring meadow!
Nice line where the lilies turn us silly.
Wonderful line:
“drunk in spring when daisies, lilies turn us silly,”
There is something intoxicating about it!
Silly and giigling, I love ‘periwinkle pearly’. Barefoot hopscotch sounds fun.
A joyous romp of silly, indeed! Bravo!
Just bare naked brazen silly fun here! The rhyme scheme keeps it light. You rocked the prompt!
A field of flowers always inspires joy. (K)

I love the jovial and whimsical of spring! May it last every day all day long!
Lovely thoughts of Spring. Nothing to feel guilty about.
(Nice to be here again.)
I guess you drank in spring and I drank in wine. I would gladly share a glass with you.
That is more delicious than dandelion wine. It buzzes! (in a good way)

I like “periwinkle pearly” and the joy of your words like a bouquet of flowers.
Lovely and light!
Oh, lovely, Bjorn!
a fun spring romp … glad it wont make you guilty!
it has such a sweet playful tone, very nice in such times.
I can picture cartoon flowers dancing out in the sunshine, well still stuck in the ground, but swaying to some music or the wind.
I love the imagery of dawn and flowers!
Who can possibly resist such a joyous outdoorsy kind of a romp?
such playful content and rhymes, too!
