With strawberried lips,
solsticed in hunger we sip
elder-scent birdsong
grass-dancing infinite dusk
endlessly stretching to dawn
Soon it’s midsummer and here is a short poem for dVerse OLN

ooooh….it’s fresh strawberry season in this area and we have a big bowl of them in our fridge. LOVE them on cereal in the morning and any other way! Strawberry solstice – nice!
It’s a midsummer treat… and our season is just beginning…
My my this is such a delicious write, Bjorn! ❤️ I do love strawberries 😀
I love the line /grass-dancing infinite dusk/. I’m sad for those folks who are allergic to strawberries.
Interesting and very pleasing structure here, Bjorn. All the more effective for being short and distilled, I think – given it’s theme.. My favourite phrase: ‘solticed in hunger…’
Midsummer is close.
Such a summery dance to this. I’m not a fan of strawberries, but we’re being stuffed to the gunnels with presents from the neighbour’s cherry trees.
With appetites as great as the day is long.
I like the grass-dancing dusk.
I love the idea of sipping ‘elder-scent birdsong’ and here’s wishing you a happy midsummer 🌞
strawberry solstice – love it. I will happily eat any strawberries for people that are allergic. we are also starting blackberry season as well. yum.
I really like the elder-scent birdsong line. Its magical.
Great work with this poem.
love your creative use of the words!
… not real keen
on strawberries and cream
I like the creative word play in this piece.
Strawberries and Cream = Yum. Fresh off of the plant is good also.
Nothing like a strawberry to sweeten the lips. Nice poem!
Wonderful. This is my favorite line, “solsticed in hunger we sip”
Solstice strawberries are always a welcome delight!
Love, strawberries lips.
“solticed in hunger”. Now there’s a phrase to contemplate! You’re a word wizard, Bjorn!
short and sweet but tasty too – elder-scent birdsong a delicious line
Makes me think of hummingbirds sipping nectar. A sweet and vibrant poem. ☺️
The strawberry moon is upon us inviting some midnight madness in the world of dreams.
luscious! (K)
