Such a gorgeous rendition in such few words, Bjorn! ❤️
So much beauty, so succinctly said! I love the image, too.
Perfect imagist poem Bjorn. So many people muck them up but you did a splendid job.
I tried to follow Pound’s example.
You did an amazing job of it.
This is so perfectly imagist the tail-lights and fireflies have imprinted themselves on my retina and I can’t get the image out of my head! It reminds me of going home in the dark on the top deck of a bus when I was little and watching the lights of cars going over a bridge and across the common.
so sweet especially with the image…bkm
That’s lovely! (And I love the change of ‘imagist’ to ‘imaginist’ – even if unintentional.)
Nice two line poems, Bjorn. We also have a lot of taillights as people got caught in the road flooding here again today in Houston. So far it hasn’t gone into many homes but it is supposed to continue until the weekend.
..
Do the fireflies once captured ever dream of freedom again, or have they resigned themselves to the limitations of their captivity?
I think the same can be said for many commuters trapped in their cars
Apt analogy!
Perfect!
Yes, a beautiful little poem…I can see it now!
Sparce and imagistic. Erza Pound, call your office! 🙂
Love how you’ve capture the movement, the colors and bright, and the warmth of summer at twilight… in a couple of lines.
Ah, I recognize this.
