I’ve built my bulwarks
filled my moat
with snakes and water
I’ve raised my drawbridge
locked the doors
just to make believe
that apple bloom
and lonesome roses
grown inside these walls,
dazzle more
if only seen by me.

The title and your poetic stanzas are a delight
and how you write with such beautifully honesty is incredible my friend.
My goodness this is good!💞 You depict the frenzied state of mind so eloquently! Thank you so much for writing to the prompt 🙂
So beautiful Bjorn, and that image- wow.
Gorgeous
What a beautiful evocation of introversion.
Pretty selfish with that aroma, Bjorn. I want a sniff? Please? 🙂

There are times one prefers to be alone to bask in the pleasures of observing beauty!

A dazzling poem from a dazzling mind, Björn! A male Rapunzel protecting his make believe.
Beautiful! I like Kim’s comment – “…..protecting his make believe.”
Oh so true, so much the human condition, bold.
