There once was a boy from Kentucky,
who was always considered unlucky.
When he met with a girl
with the sweetest of curls,
he tripped and his face became mucky,
she said: “You’re too messy and yucky”,
and left with her diamonds and pearls.
Forty four words is really too much for limerick, but with a word like yucky I had to make an effort… somehow this fitted with Pigpen, the character from Peanuts. De hosts the Quadrille challenge at dVerse
Awwww. Poor Pigpen. I love him! This is clever, B.
It does cry limericks doesn’t it. Well done and fun.
A clever twist: Putting pigpen in Charlie Brown’s scorned affection seat! Cool write!
Ha. This is adorable. 🙂
I want to play.
Loved the limerick levity. I considered that, but Trump jumped up and stole my focus; hate it when that happens.
That’s great fun! I like your limerick variant – but she’s obviously not good enough for him, if she’s going to treat him like that!
I love that Pigpen strip and what you’ve done with the limerick form, Bjorn!
Those yucky guys have a harder time getting those girls.
Awww the poor guy! ❤️ Love this, Bjorn 😀
Haha! Very good Bjorn. Nice and light. I love Pigpen. for some reason he reminds me of my sweet husband. An excellent extended limerick.
Well this little ditty is a cross between a limerick and a quadrille, but it surely is worth a smile!
Hilarious! I couldn’t resist an attempt at a limerick either.
“Yucky and mucky” – how many pre-adolescent girls haven’t said that? Lol.
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!!
This is funny! I loved it 🙂
describes Charlie to a T, a very yucky T (shirt too..LOL!)
Well I’m glad she made it out of there with her curls and pearls intact!
Fun to read, Bjorn.
A smile for this one!! I like the way you stretched the limerick!
Good old Pigpen. You have a perfect foil for your poem
This is great! And peanuts has always been a favorite of mine.
Made me smile
lluv the rhyme and the ‘Peanuts’
much love
fun. i was that kid…
Good ones!
oh…poor boy!!
Great fun…nothing like a limerick to start the day
Clever and whimsical… a fun combination.
