You say that ash is all that’s left and
yet — watch how fire-feathers flicker
still inside the pyre of our past.
You only have to blow a single kiss
for ash to phoenix back to flames.
You only have to tell me once…

Phoenix as verb = YES.
Fire as feathers, even better.
Amazing poetry and image by Hokusai.
I looked for a Phoenix… and this picture came.
It’s beautiful.
Beautiful!
Absolutely stupendous!💖
Very nice, (I hope they’re listening :-))
I liked this alliteration in this: “fire-feathers flicker
still inside the pyre of our past”
And the fire still burns- sigh. A lot of emotion here Bjorn.
This is mighty hot, Mister. I’d blow you more than a kiss for poetry like this.
Wow, another one Bjorn.
“You only have to tell me once” – beautiful !
Great!
Oh, that last line…
Well done! Enjoyed.
Oh the alliteration is superb. Luv it
Much🌼love
It doesn’t take much to revive some old flames. This is a stunner of a quadrille.
The longing in the speaker’s voice leaves the heart aching. You know this person has done all possible to salvage a situation that most others think hopeless, you know hope is there in the ashes waiting to be be rekindling, you know so many things from reading this short gem…
for ash to phoenix back into flames… oh wow..that is now my number one favourite of your lines!
…”fire-feathers flicker
still inside the pyre of our past..” – I love the imagery here
Beautiful image!!! And words to match!
Ah, this is magic…you only have to tell me once..
A beautiful hopeful image!
So utterly true Bjorn! Wise and beautiful!
Loving this with its smooth use of alliteration.
How beautifully passionate and poignant!
It doesn’t take much to rekindle the flames. I admire the alliteration here and the image you chose is stunning.

You only have to blow a single kiss

The Phoenix can be rekindled back in many strange ways!

For some reason, Bjorn, I am smiling. 🙂 This for me was a pleasant read, I thought of the fire-flies flights as I read of your fire-feathers’ upward traverse. I live watching them rising from a friendly fire.
..
It makes me wonder if there will be “one more chance.”
