The first of many summer nights

Still, the sky is not completely inked
as chocolate skin on licorice, perfect
is this, the first of many summer nights.
At dawn I’ll wake, and go to sleep again.
the glass of water drunk, and teeth are
brushed. What happened to my week?

  1. I love this!!! “chocolate skin on licorice” … That is a crazy-yum description! And it sounds like a really delicious snack … that I can’t have, grrr. I think you’re being mean on purpose, teasing me like that. 😉

  2. Passing time, my days seem to be stuck on Saturdays, except for Sundays. I’d like to try a mix chocolate with licorice but I won’t as I don’t eat licorice anymore since it has been declared toxic.

  3. Wowieee!❤️ This is such a delicious metaphor; “the sky is not completely inked as chocolate skin on licorice.” Beautifully done! 😀

I love your feedback
