A journey is much more
the time it takes preparing,
and the time when memory
becomes another dream to leave
again.
A journey is to seek for silence
just like sleeping
is a quest to find what’s lost
again.
A journey is like breathing,
inhale when leaving; exhale returning
and suffocate while staying still
again.
A journey set in movements,
fortissimo and largo
finale in adagio;
it’s a symphony you listen to again,
again.
A journey is the wisdom;
pretending to be folly both
in leaving and returning home
again.

A journey is to seek for silence
just like sleeping
is a quest to find what’s lost
again.
I love these thoughts.. and also wish you well on your April journey.
Your thoughts are so well crafted! This is a poem that fully fits the definition of going beyond meaning to simply being. That is… the reader comes to it and enters it, hears it, lives it.
Peace and joy, Björn!
It is indeed all those things. And far better than to ‘suffocate while staying still’.
The journey is about what happens inside. You can travel the world and still get nowhere
This is so accurate to our experience of life, both internal and external. Thank you for sharing!
I am most struck by your lines about the journey being to seek for silence the way sleeping is a quest to find what’s lost again. I feel the truth in that.
I liked the comparison of the journey with breathing and folly being only at the turning points of starting and ending the journey.
The symphony of it all…wonderful metaphor…let us orchestrate our journey.
This is beautiful!❤️Especially adore; “A journey is to seek for silence just like sleeping is a quest to find what’s lost again.”❤️
Thank you, Bjorn, this poem reaches to a point that’s beyond us, to become a meditative piece, we have to reflect on, as we view our own personal journeys, in life.
A little down in spirit, this poet today. It all started for me soon with the sad idea of “the time when memory becomes another dream to leave again.”
..
I wonder, do we ever really return home? ~
All of life, of love, of song’s a journey. Amen!
Let’s go!
Heavy duty, Bjorn! The line “and suffocate while staying still again.” is so true. I don’t like standing still very much.
beautiful!!
So often I make too much noise when I start a journey. Perhaps I should start in silence. Such a unique take on the prompt.
