After rain

Iridescent a rain-
bowed scent of green.
when after rain;
sheened in simmered
dusk she nests herself
besides him, rests
still silent, husked
and hiding seeds of yes.

In flowered verdancy,
her hair embraces
shields, the lover’s lips,
slips to spring when
melodies are green.

  1. Such an incredibly sweet and sensuous write 😀 Beautifully executed. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights 🙂

    Lots of love,

  2. the image and the diction in your poem got me smiling. as it is about myth and nature, I can’t help but feel at peace with it. Remarkable!

  3. This is stunning. Especially the opening line, where you hide (where you hide) “iridescent terrain.” Ear/eye descent to rain. De-scent to reign. Die scent to rein. There’s so much to find and feel, just within that one line.

    “when after rain;
    sheened in simmered
    dusk she nests herself”

    I also see “hiding seeds of yes-
    terday.”

    I love this:
    “her hair embraces
    shields”

    Beautiful, beautiful work. Hibernation. We all need it if we’re to survive.

  4. Well this one sings! Made me thinking of raising falling on hot concrete and the sizzle and relief – and electricity it brings

I love your feedback
