    I also like the image of someone’s face being “swallowed” by swallows (birds), but I’m sure that’s not what you meant.

    Yup. Nothing hurts like someone saying “no.” I think the fog implies pain in the leaving, and the pavement implies pain in the falling/being crushed. In relationships (and nature), there’s really no eternal life or love. Everyone and everything gets broken and dies in the end.

    This is really an outstanding poem. Well done. I too really like this imagism technique.

  2. The prompt for images pulls me in, too, but you have a great touch with capturing the photo’s essence, a ‘sense’ and feeling of the pic using few words. You are a skilled poet.
