A jealous breeze
whispers, moving through the blinds
Sun drawn patterns dance across the floor
Echoes fill this dreaded room,
those whining words that whip and tousle hair.
I miss the purr of feline curvatures —
your back
pressed against my chest.
I’m torn, a flowered corpse, a leaded kiss.
My drowsy afternoon is filled with ends,
a bed of silent afterwards
I lay alone in phantom-pains
crippled with my empty hands
full with weight
and roundness of your absent breasts.

Björn, this is mesmerizing in its imagery. I love the way you so easily move through the scene to the core of emotion.
what a lovely poem
a “flowered corpse” captured my mood today (:
Ouch I really feel that loss! Well written x
“I miss the purr of feline curvatures —
your back
pressed against my chest.”
Love that.
WOW, another fabulous one, Bjorn.
The sensual agony of this moment is so enchanting.
Really great descriptions in this one bjorn. A flowered corpse especially. The detail of the breeze and the pattern of the sun really brought the setting to life.
Missing feline curvatures – Ha, nice.
intense feelings!
So Sad Bjorn, beautifully written too.
Sensual and beautiful
Face it, Bjorn, you can write!
My cat ran away once , it was awful…
I love how this poem makes makes tangible that which *isn’t* there. Beautifully written, and very emotional indeed!
Melancholy captured quite beautifully …
Yes, you can feel the atmosphere and silence and jealousy.
This is a lovely write, Bjorn. The imagery is sexy and wonderful.
A sensuous piece of writing, Bjorn. Lovely.
“I’m torn, a flowered corpse, a leaded kiss.”
I love that line. And the last four.
particularly good
breathtaking!
Great!!!
Pretty cool – as usual! Enjoyed immensely!
Love the comparison it’s easily imagined and beautiful. Hugs!
What I feel from reading this poem is a sense of yearning for all that is missed. Nicely penned.
Deliciously bittersweet…like dark chocolate…
this is pure eloquence the weight of the aloneness: the corpse, the silence, crippled, empty, absence … juxtaposed against a jealous breeze
wow…this was so rich and emotional toward the end. lovely work.
