Shay wants us to do lists today at toads. I had no real list in mind but just started to reflect on shade, used a little googlism, and worked it more like an abstract painting. There should be a meaning hidden there somewhere.

Interesting list. The last line is exceptional. Contrasts there and in the list, also truths.
Amazing!
Shade is a gunpoint love affair.
Love it! Love your creative list of the properties of shade.
You are a shady character, Bjorn. I still want my palm trees back.
Ha.. I can give you a pair of K2 skis instead 🙂
Kerry already quoted my favorite line, but I also like ‘Shade is watered death and summer cherries’–great line, as so many here–making a whole that has both impact and subtle music.
Shades of perfection 🙂
This line makes my ears happy:
“Shade is graves & graceful silk.”
Also “gunpoint love affair.”
This is very well done.
Kerry quoted my favorite line. This is really cool!
50 shades of shade ;-). I’ll look at shade a little differently now.
Wowza, Bjorn! Too many fave phrases for me to list; very impressive.
This is ani terestingk
list . It captures my imagination. An interesting challenge too.
“…both the cause and the reason” I love that line. Enjoyed the entire piece.
Thanks for the visit.
A gloriously felt list, I especially liked :”Shade is laurel triumphs with memento mori.”, but it was a daunting task to pick something of the list that I cold “check”, all the lines are good. I like that your approach to writing this piece managed to encompass such a vast subject in such a touchable way.
” Shade is ice & honey, both the cause and reason. ” got me with this line, the juxtaposition is uncanny, an exceptionally apt end line; this is a blow mind list
much love…
Love how you closed, Bjorn and for me, it’s so intriguing the diveristy in one word…such a great approach!
Liking it, Bjorn. You finished the list in good form.
Shade is a place where puppies and old men can catch their breath, rest, and cool.
..
I like how, ever since your prompt on antithesis, it seems that I am more aware of it in poetry and can see the value of it and the amazing effect that it has and you have utilized it well in this piece too 🙂
cool shade here, Bjorn ~
Oh, what a lovely list – and what a great take on the prompt.
Not cause and effect, but cause and reason. That’s really interesting.
I found myself divinely lost in this labyrinthian ramble. Very cool!
‘Shade is ice & honey, both the cause and reason.’ This is my favorite.
