They way you wrote it makes me want to try them again, even though trying them first time proven to be unfavorable for my stomach.
The “‘Pearls of Aphrodite” in referring to snails, I always thought to be a rather strange contradiction in terms – especially when served as escargot swimming in butter and garlic. Delicious though. And when consumed with sufficient wine the snail thing (to say nothing of the garlic breath thing) tends to be less odious. Ha!
