Jen wrote this marvelous haiku:
ancient laughter
captured in a canyon wind –
yucca leaves, rustling
Which I’m completing to with two lines:
ancient laughter
captured in a canyon wind –
yucca leaves, rustling
a lazy rattlesnake
lapping midday sunshine

A fine Tan Renga Bjorn. I feel the warm desert breeze and the hiss in the distance.
Poetry with a bite to it!
Kirizar is right — quite a bite to your tan renga!!! So glad NOT to have met that fellow on the path, that’s for sure!
Nicely done —
Bjorn, Beautiful snake, but I don’t want to meet it in person. Well written. 🙂 — Susan
Respect for all beings I say. In this case, huge respect at as far a distance as possible! 🙂
I channelled an auditory vibe here . . . and an expectation that the snake will, at some point be heard from. (Maybe it’s the rattle in the name.) Wisps of onamonapia – though I know it doesn’t fit the term exactly.
I particularly like the image of ‘lapping midday sun’ – it brings to mind the flickering tongue and the sense that the snake is indulging himself.
