Carpe Diem Tan Renga – Jen’s “canyon wind”

Jen wrote this marvelous haiku:

ancient laughter
captured in a canyon wind –
yucca leaves, rustling

Which I’m completing to with two lines:

ancient laughter
captured in a canyon wind –
yucca leaves, rustling

a lazy rattlesnake
lapping midday sunshine

  1. Kirizar is right — quite a bite to your tan renga!!! So glad NOT to have met that fellow on the path, that’s for sure!

    Nicely done —

  2. I channelled an auditory vibe here . . . and an expectation that the snake will, at some point be heard from. (Maybe it’s the rattle in the name.) Wisps of onamonapia – though I know it doesn’t fit the term exactly.

  3. I particularly like the image of ‘lapping midday sun’ – it brings to mind the flickering tongue and the sense that the snake is indulging himself.

I love your feedback
