Oak trees and the moon.
Light and mute constellations.
And the frigid sea
A given haiku by Tomas Tranströmer, which in Swedish reads:
Ekar och månen.
Ljus och tysta stjärnbilder.
Det kalla havet.
I write a Swdish inspired haiku:
I fruset månsken
Vintergatans ensamhet
horisonten gömd.
That I interpret in English:
In frozen moon-light
Loneliness of milky way
hidden horizon

This is lovely and yet sad…bittersweet
Very beautiful!
Bjorn, Lovely and I can sense the quiet of night and space. Well written. 🙂 — Suzanne
There is, indeed, something lonely about the night…
Oak Trees and the Moon
A very interesting take on the original.
I went back to the Swedish original.
I think this haiku reveals a lot about your part of the world at this time of year: dark!
Dead Trees & No Moon
