Serpents

summer sweetness lingers
sinfully like honeyed
strawberries – in crimson
stains from lipsticked kisses
stranded on my collar
such giggled carelessness
singing her deceiving lies

  1. Very careless indeed! Temptresses and temptors can easily become someone’s downfall.
I like the use of the ‘s’ at the beginning of each line, an effective way to evoke the hissing of those serpents.

  2. I have been enjoying the Pleiades form (in a number of posts) and may give it a try myself. The “S” sound of serpent – perfect. At the moment, the “W” sound is calling my name (well it is my name – ha) – but I digress. I love posts that get the creative thought process going, though. Thanks.
