Carpe Diem Haiku – Hot Springs

wet yukata

I have never been to real hot springs in Japan, but outside Stockholm there is a spa with Japanese bath with artificial hot springs. In there you walk around in slippers and the cotton robes called yukata. It’s a special feeling to wear this uniform for several days and just let yourself be embraced by hot water.

In Iceland however I have been in real volcanic hot springs.

the hot water
still is soothing

  1. I’ve never experienced real hot springs either, but your haiku helps me experience vicariously. 😉

  2. Beautiful first haiku…sensuous done tastefully. How awesome to have experienced hot springs in Iceland! I could use some healing water for a few days myself ;-O

  3. Sounds like I have something I’d like to do in Sweden! Sounds lovely and the Icelandic springs must be heaven (a smelly heaven but one gets used to that 😉 ). Loved this post.
