  1. The first one is definitely my favourite here – it captures that sense of ‘wabi’ or loneliness that Basho taught was an essential ingredient in haiku

  2. Really loved the first haiku – a brilliantly drawn, woebegone, end-of-summer image. The second haiku – end-of-summer, also – but in a more down in the dumps, kind of way. Smiles
