Seeking Sister Moon
This lovely crescent is in our family a banana moon or a fingernail moon. Interestingly enough one of our sons was born on the second full moon of the month in his birth year.
your crescent moon made me smile too!
Oh how I love that a child is born…lovely haiku!!
This brought to mind a children’s book by Nancy Tillman, that I have read to my grandchildren. It begins with the words: “On the night you were born, The moon smiled with such wonder.” The crescent moon smiling – what an enchanted, enduring image . . . and now, I believe I shall always think of it as welcoming a child. Lovely thought.
