in tic-toc-tic-toc-tic-toc
the metronome measures our infinity
tic-toc-tic-toc so carefully
but still
in your mica eyes I see
the snarling dog with yellow teeth
reflected
and I humbly ask for time-reversal
toc-tic-toc-tic

ouch. hope she lets you step back in time…
slowly…so as not to upset the yellow teeth dog
in her eyes….
Outstanding!
Mica eyes! This works well.
The tic-toc makes the poem sound ominous.
The last verse implies to me that the time-reversal was granted. I like that it was asked for in a humbly way… smiles…
Powerful image, seeing the snarling dog in someone’s eyes. Nice work!
I like the mica eyes and yes for that tic-toc-tic-toc ~
oh heck…the dog with yellow teeth in her eyes…what an image and the clicking of the metronome… really – i hate metronomes – they’re kinda merciless
Bjorn. Snarling dog with yellow teeth. That’s a good person to avoid in future. Well written. 🙂 —Susan
We were playing a similar tune here. I like yours better than mine!
the eyes do it all here….
going back never sounded so intriguing. Loved the thought of “measuring our infinity”
Ha, wouldn’t we all enjoy some time reversal! Life goes tick-tocking along all too quickly.
I like the wistful and a little mysterious tone of this poem, Björn, and wonder at the memory associated with this dog with yellow teeth.
we all want time reversal…measuring infinity..now that’s a thought..
oh scary!! hope you get your toc-tic-toc!!
Love the ending . . . makes me want to slowly back up.
Ah … a metronome brings me back to school days … kind of disquieting in your poem though very adapt when you think about it.
yikes…that snarling dog could be quite scary…it’s unfortunate that there is no such thing as a time reversal…though I’m sure we’ve all wished for one a time or two.
