My pennyworth gains

Like a praying mantis the creature plague my nights, that creature of the dark, that creature licks my clotting blood, the creature that I love. Each night her dreadful dancing that seduces with stagnant kisses and debasement of my dreams. From the deck of tarot cards I always draw the lovers and the death, the symbols of what we are. In daylight the creature levitate and caress the cumulonimbus into thunderheads above, and in shotgun blasts it delivers pennyworth gains to compensate for nighttime losses. That seductive creature always wins.

  1. Since the Death card can signal rebirth, I groove on that card…! The creature here is, well, as ominous as my 13th floor, except she’s right in your face. All that drooly licking of the blood, I try to look past the gory bits and realize that this is visceral but haunting. Thx for stopping by, and don’t be scared on the 13th floor. Kind of like Harry Potters 1/2 platform – you have to know the way in! Amy

  2. Dark piece again Bjorn. I’m reading this early in the morning before breakfast and think I’ll try to forget that part about the blood. Well done. 🙂 —-Susan

  3. Engaging held me from the beginning to the end. (May I tell you that seduce should have an s: ergo – dreadful dancing that seduces?)

  4. Bjorn, you really put the words in perfect alignment here. Very well done. Sorry for the late visit, it was kind of a crazy week.
