Like a praying mantis the creature plague my nights, that creature of the dark, that creature licks my clotting blood, the creature that I love. Each night her dreadful dancing that seduces with stagnant kisses and debasement of my dreams. From the deck of tarot cards I always draw the lovers and the death, the symbols of what we are. In daylight the creature levitate and caress the cumulonimbus into thunderheads above, and in shotgun blasts it delivers pennyworth gains to compensate for nighttime losses. That seductive creature always wins.

I wonder what would happen in real life if the seductive creature always won? What kind of world would this be? Just wondering…
Dancing and Praying
Alas that creature win quite often.. the creature lives and thrive on greed and destruction…
Two sides of the coin.
Indeed
🙂
Since the Death card can signal rebirth, I groove on that card…! The creature here is, well, as ominous as my 13th floor, except she’s right in your face. All that drooly licking of the blood, I try to look past the gory bits and realize that this is visceral but haunting. Thx for stopping by, and don’t be scared on the 13th floor. Kind of like Harry Potters 1/2 platform – you have to know the way in! Amy
Good to know.. the rebirth is better than the dying I guess
Dark piece again Bjorn. I’m reading this early in the morning before breakfast and think I’ll try to forget that part about the blood. Well done. 🙂 —-Susan
Yes seductive creature always win but sometimes they aren’t that bad to be with.
Having a relationship like that clearly has its pro and cons.
We cannot always choose who or what we love…the licking of the clotting blood really sticks as an image (no pun intended)
Yes she does! You haven’t a chance!
Don’t try to outsmart her. She will win, every time.
This is very interesting and needs to be read several times — definitely, very, very poetic prose. Bravo!
Engaging held me from the beginning to the end. (May I tell you that seduce should have an s: ergo – dreadful dancing that seduces?)
Indeed — thank you for pointing out the typo.
you’re welcome … it is such a lovely post that I felt I should have mentioned it to you.
Bjorn, you really put the words in perfect alignment here. Very well done. Sorry for the late visit, it was kind of a crazy week.
