Carpe Diem Haiku – Jack Kerouac’s “bumblebees”

Jack Kerouac wrote:

early morning gentle rain,
two big bumblebees
humming at their work

My answer is an american sentence:

Office workers morning rush to the rhythmic sound of jackhammers

I thought about George Gershwin and Rhapsody in blue when writing this. If you have time, watch the Fantasia version.

  1. I really enjoy anything from Fantasia –
Jackhammers – a definite buzz of the city.
If Jack lived in Ozone Park, Queens NY I am sure he knew of Jack Hammers.

    Cheers ~Jules
