As deep within the folds he finds
her luscious nectar to devour
until she wither she might bind
but then he leaves for younger flower

Well done!
works for popular culture too – nice
You have made us this bee in quite a new way. I also like the metaphorical interpretation of your micro poem, Björn.
I meant ‘see this bee’, of course.
Ah yes. The busy little bee. Good poem and photo to fit.I hope the bumble bees are increasing again. Some years ago I heard they were disappearing.
Sad yet true….well done!
Such is the way of the bee, it seems. Always wandering in search of sweeter nectar!
Ah, but from all the busy bee’s work comes wonderful honey.
a lot said in so few words! That little bee has become a giant metaphor!
Forget the bees–this could be titled “The Middle-Aged Housewife’s Lament”. Very well worded, Bjorn.
140 characters are easy-peasy for we Twitterers, right Brother? Your verse works well to the image. I really dig poems of this length, so I found 5 of my own macro-images, & twitted out gold; cool.
haha… you know…i can understand if a bee does this…if men do…i get furious…smiles
ouch. not a very faithful guy eh? got what he wanted and is gone….
Smiling . . . love how this can read as man or bee.
got his honey then threw it back at her… all too common
Erg. Those wandering . . . “bees.”
got the honey, then threw it back at her… all too common
You always add your own flavor Bjorn, I like that. But, if the flower withers, who can blame the bee for looking for fresh nectar?
Great metaphor for that love ’em and leave ’em guy – the bee and the flowers – it’s fabulous!
What a Casanova! This is a fun poem to read out loud.
Such are the way of bees or men, ahem ~ Good to see you Bjorn ~
Sad and true…..
Ah the last sweet nectar from the dying flower – you captured the bittersweet so well Bjorn. Well done!
the bee enjoys the nectar and then moves on to another alluring flower..
Such is the way of bee culture…they take and move on to sweeter pastures.
…and i think maybe queen bees send drones away in the fall…too many mouths to feed 😉
until next season =) a kind of dance
Yes ……… what a beautiful peace
I hadn’t realised you were such a cynic! A fun interpretation of the prompt.
Oouch, rather sarcastic interpretation there!
I like that bumblebees sleep inside flowers… they use each other.
Wonderful! Love the double meaning…the first before I saw the photo.
Wow…life’s too often like that. Clever take on the photo.
That bee I don’t know of.
Oh, this is lovely.
Geez, this is just beautiful, Bjorn.
I think you might have been waiting for something like this prompt to come along…seemed right on the tip of your tongue and you used it! Luscious folds I like.
Wonderful! You have so much packed into this micro poem. Very nice.
I was reading this and I couldn’t help thinking that your poem was more than just about a bee tasting a flower… I saw the bee as a man, intimately tasting his lover but then inevitably leaving her for a tastier, younger woman after he gets his fill. Aha. This poem says alot about relationships and how ephemeral they unfortunately are.
isn’t that always the case…moving on to a young version?
nice piece…works well with the photo.
Younger flower – that’s a unique thought Bjorn, smiles.
I had the same thought as Claudia…when bees do it, yay! When men do it, boo!
sadly the old are usually cast out for the new…bees no different. Nice micro and macro BR.
rather clever, and sadly true.
