Resisting gravity

Resisting gravity & pining for the sky
but relentlessly the downward pull will
eventually uproot and release me
into those eternal waves beneath.
My destiny is sealed – but yet this spring
is bursting through my timber,
as my sap is raising upwards
to meet the perwinkle sky.

  1. To me this was very clever in it’s simplicity. Your use of natural imagery is well done, particularly in the second half of this work. And I must say, I find the lines: “My destiny is sealed – but yet this spring
is bursting through my timber,” absolutely stunning. Well done and viva la!

  2. Nice, Bjorn ~~ I happens every spring. Our trees that support blossoms before leafing are in the process of blooming. Some are already, the red bud trees down the road. But not ours.
Thank you for the anniversary salute. And yes, I had a first marriage that lasted a much shorter time.
