Mouth of Flower by Octavio Ocampo
the summer blooms within your speech
like wings of butterflies caress
your laughter calls and love beseech
the summer blooms within your speech
we are like waves upon the beach
the summer blooms within your speech
like wings of butterflies caress
Tonight at 3PM EST it’s open-link Night at dVerse. I felt like writing a love poem after finding that wonderful picture. And a triolet was what I felt like this February night.

What an exquisite painting! It made me pause when I saw it and reminded me of Japanese paintings. I always enjoy your triolets, Björn, and this one is no exception. It is a beautiful complement to the picture.
love this so much…the poem accentuates the painting in such a lovely way.
i kept thinking of love…how the beloved inhabits everything beautiful when you are in love.

Upon seeing that beautiful picture, I can understand how it inspired you to write the lovely poem.
What a stunning painting, Bjorn. “The summer blooms within your speech” is a beautiful line!
Bjorn, you always speak of love with the most beautiful of words. I enjoy that immensely!
nice…i love the feel of movement in this bjorn…it plays well off the butterfly wings…and the waves crashing on the shore….very moving triolet….
the summer blooms within your speech…. i wished we would always talk like this… a wonderful pic – love how you captured its weightlessness… a beautiful love poem
excellent…the poem and picture are perfect compliments.
I love the refrain – like wings of butterflies caress ~ Love the theme & triolet ~ (please check your link in Mr Linky as its different)
Ha.. I will not added by me.. 🙂
Back to a classic triolet, and it soars & sings & illuminates the painting. It belongs in a gilded frame hanging beneath the wonderful painting; surely the artist would agree; you are ever the hopeful romantic.
Bjorn, this is lovely, a song with wings
i like to think there is star inside a voice..sometimes shining ..some times..waiting..to escape..
But moreover..that shining light..
is brighter than ever…
when folks..
are
not
quite..and shining bright..along with
light..and sound..in brilliant hues of
life.
Ah, my favorite form and beautifully written, Bjorn. And I like your theme of summer as winter has been too real this year.
Words and pic in perfect harmony.
I like the image of the summer blooming in your speech. We have been besieged by winter storms, and I had the chainsaw out yesterday to try and “unlandscape” the front lawn….
What a lovely pairing of word and image, beautiful music here, all the way around…
Gosh. Such a valentine.
Well done
Well, the words and the image are like POW! 😉 Perfection. Favorite line: We are like waves upon the beach. LOVE that…
Daintily Lyrical – I can hear you saying this in my head, Bjorn – it carries your distinctive musicality…
Bjorn, you captured the feeling in t he image so perfectly… and your use of the triolet for this poem was so nice. You are a romantic, you! Amy
Beautiful poem!
I love triolets and you’ve penned a nice one. With remnants of snow still on the ground here the thought of someone whose voice could conjure up summer was wonderful to read. Peace, Linda
A beautiful picture inspires a beautiful poem.
beautiful Triolet and one of my favourite images 🙂 So nice!
Lovely poem Bjorn..I like the images that flash in my head..and that pic is so cool..
Lovely triolet, Bjorn…the painting and your poem are a perfect pair!
Nice musical poem, and …I immediately composed the melody…imagine skipping – rhythm, melody – eee | ^ cc bb a eee | ^ aa gg f ddd | ^ bb aa g ddd| ^ gg ff e eee|….~ etc.
how utterly lovely 🙂 xo
Great imagery and repetition. Art for me is almost always a part of poetry- they enhance each other so much. Thanks for sharing
I love that first line…it’s wonderful to have someone that causes summer to bloom when they speak!
your laughter calls and love beseech….heart touching
Words and image well matched
Perfect, melodious Valentine’s Day poem (even for those jaded amongst us who don’t buy into the Valentine’s commercialism).
A gorgeous triolet BR and your choice of art equally as beautiful.
a triolet in darkest februari, what could be nicer.
I shall now have to search out the shape of the triolet and try one for myself.
Check out this one
Stunning. Love the image, and love your words Bjorn.
Loved it – and the picture. Like hanna said, gotta figure out the form. That’s one of my goals for the year – more poetry forms. Thanks for the link.
I got my drink at the bar and am just wandering around the pub. Hope to run into you. Would save me the trip across the Atlantic…

Ha… would love to see you here in Stockholm though 🙂
That picture is enchanting. My first reaction was that it was of a face, the butterfly forming the nose. Your triolet is beautiful and dreams of summer.
This is lovely. It enriches the painting, but is wonderful on its own. I like the idea of seeing the summer in the lover.
I love this form and how you’ve written this lovely poem, Bjorn. I’ve never tried a triolet…perhaps it’s time.
