Carpe Diem Haiku – Volga River

Crossing a big river on our long trip, breaks not only the monotony of the taiga forests but it interrupts our conversations as well. Somehow the train has been transformed, to a spaceship. We cross the dark river where stars are reflected, and we seem to be floating through space. We take a glass of wine and I see the stars reflected also deep within your eyes. At that moment we are for a brief moment connected stronger than ever before.

your eyes shine
more clearly than ever –
touching me

  1. Ah Bjorn, this is getting more beautiful every day. This haibun was superb at every twist and turn, like the narrow side lanes of the painting -typo spotted, shine, line1. All the best.

  2. what a beautiful moment in time not just the trip…the illusion of flying into the stars…ha…i have seen that so i know what you are saying…but the connection as well to the one you are with…
