Writing a haiku inspired by Garry Gay:
along the way
an old oak branch
becomes a walking stick
on roads less taken
a sturdy walking stick
makes a difference
The reference to Robert Frost is not accidental (smiles)

Beautifully said !!!
For sure! Love my Frost twice in one day!
If you like Frost, you will probably love Stafford too….Here is a poem he and I chatted about, when I pointed out the similarities of this poem and Stopping By Woods… He said he probably was inspired by Frost to write it…. Anyway, here tis: http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/traveling-through-the-dark/ – Will was a great poet and friend….opie
A wonderful poem. Very strong.. I’m sure he was greatly missed.
Reblogged this on Thoughts while on Forest Walks.
I believe, strongly, that you are right – and great picture, really nicely presented.
Lovely, Bjørn. Really nice. If the haiku had one more syllable it would be perfect. The message is great.
Ah I never count syllables nowadays…
Jag blev inspirerad:
VARA SÅ
Vid obekant och farlig väg,
där djur och mörker hotar, säg
du är inte är et offer, men
befogenhet, på rankan gren.
🙂
Mycket bra Anders 😉
I love the reference to Frost here… a beautiful haiku. 🙂

yes – for many reasons
What a beautiful photo … and I like the reference to Frost … Garry would be delighted I think.
Indeed it does. I would have loved a walking stick in Sedona. Possibly will have one for my next venture. Wonderful haiku.
What happens, I wonder, if you can’t find just the right stick for the journey?
I get stuck 🙂
Beautiful and rightly said so.
Excellent visual treat.

Great!
This captures Garry’s poem and the photo perfectly.
