As moon streaks the old pond with silver,
I feel first tooth growing,
nails transforms to claws,
and cursed hair appear again.
Hunger growing, my last human thought’s:
“Hope chains will hold tonight”

Chained Prisoner by Francisco Goya
My contribution for this week’s trifextra. I’m back from my little hiatues and thought I’d write a little story using the word tooth as prompt.

Poor Lupin- I suppose turning into a werewolf is quite a pain…
Very powerful take on the prompt. We feel sorry for him, don’t we?
I always like werewolves! Nicely done.
A clever take on the prompt Björn. I also hope his chains hold.
I hope the chains don’t hold so I can read about the rest!
I really liked this, and though I don’t normally write about werewolves, it was my first thought (I did end up going with the sexy).
because of my love of Professor Lupin from Harry Potter, I do feel for the werewolves…how achingly hard to fear the full moon.
I wonder if chains come with Werewolf ratings.
I like the way you used the word tooth in telling a first-person tale from the werewolf’s point of view.
Very Impressive…..Leaves a mark on heart !!
Great story! I love the last line because my mind automatically though, “but what if they don’t?” and there’s another story there.
Ah, like the direction you took. Imagining transforming is painful.
Yes, I feel sorry for him… Imagine having to go through that every night…
An impressive take, Bjorn.
This is awesome! Love the werewolf POV. Nicely done!
Welcome back, Björn. “and cursed hair appears again…” I love this line! The beat and emotion of it reminds me of ” and I alone beweep my outcast state.” A wonderfully literary take on the prompt. :))
I hope no one is near by…
marvelous entry!
Excellent!
I like how you capture the character’s emotions as well as subtly describe his transformation… And all in 33 words!
You’re back, yay, and you brought be a werewolf story as a souvenir. Love it.
Perfect!
I’m glad you are back too! And with tooth and claws and cursed hair no less! Well done!!!
Very nicely done! and powerful.
i feel you
His moonlit agony was wonderfully received, very nice. 8)
Never know what I’m going to find here. Great 33 words! Your brain gears go everywhere!
reminds me of the classic werewolf movie, the old black & white film.
I hope the chains hold as well! I know he is a “monster”, but I feel a little sympathy for the guy.
Ooh, love this! Great imagery and intensity.
I love the feel of this…felt my inner wolf howling.
so good b.
What a cool piece 🙂 Welcome back from hiatus!
A werewolf hoping not to get loose? Fabulous.
So nice to see you back, Bjorn, and to be able to read your poetry again. I love your reluctant werewolf–and the Goya drawing you chose as illustration.
