Entering into the 3rd year we are doing numbers today in dVerse. I choose zero as the first number of Fibonacci sequence, and of course I write fib poetry, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 syllable stanzas. Tomorrow I take a little hiatus and will be absent for a few weeks. Time runs so I’ll soon be back.

  1. So true, eventually everything will probably go full circle. Beginning with zero and ending with zero. This unfortunately some days seems to be the path man(woman)kind is on! I enjoyed the form.

  2. yikes on the end…yes we do tend to eat one another…and that countdown def will begin at some point…you bring the tension in subtlely there in the middle…i like how you let this build from a very gentle first stanza…

  3. How clever of you to employ the Fibonacci form here, Bjorn. It is all about numbers, right?

  4. brilliant work… I love Fibonacci poetry; hence it was a very good read for me.. 🙂
have a good time while you are not blogging.. 🙂

  5. Am staring at your photo in awe. And must now go look up Fibonnaci but understand the sequencing of the lines. Hope you are doing something wonderful or fascinating while you are gone. You will be missed.

    • The photo is from a wonderful sculpture in Oslo. It actually shows how humans are climbing on each other to reach the top. In the bottom they wriggle in pain… very vivid and sad. If you ever go to Oslo it should be on your list.

  6. You slip off for a rest, just as I return from one; my turn to curtsy, your turn to bow, sir. Like the great snake eating its own tail, like the male creatures eating their young, only stopped by the females, the universe, our lives, our catastrophes are all circular, and I adore Zed as the antagonist. Nice job with this form too, of course.

  7. i like how this builds from zero – the growth, development and at some point the shrinking and going back to where it started… a cool write björn and have fun in your holidays

  8. Interesting form and your poem hold a message..a little darkness in play as everyone circles in life and strives to climb that tower..but, it the end are we zero??? Enjoy your break you will be missed while away.

  9. …what starts from nothing ends to nothing… this was great Bjorn… fibonacci is quite new to me… enjoy the trip &/or break… smiles…

  10. ah, powerful, Björn! was wondering if anyone would do a Fibonacci one – brilliantly done.
it all comes down to zero, indeed…

  11. Great Fibonacci sequence. I’ve been meaning to give these ago, and I really love what you’ve done here (“like”button on my ipad not working at the moment for some reason).
