Today Kristjaan of Carpe Diem wants us to write a haiku in the same tone as a haiku by Kikusha-Ni:
morning glories
in the evening, they let us
admire their buds
I read hope and optimism into this, a new morning giving new bloom.

Grandmother, sculpture by Anders Zorn
wrinkled hands
caress a rose’s bud
will she see it bloom?
morning glory
by midday it’s withered
wake up sleepyhead!

I have only ever seen closed morning glories because I’m so not a morning person. Lovely takes on the prompt. First one so sad.
Early risers have all the good stuff! Sunrise, morning glories, birdsong! And a worm or two , if wanted! 🙂Glory
Two great takes on the prompt Bjorn. I do hope she sees the rose bloom.
Morning Glory
Groaned at ” will she see it bloom”. Well, well done!
Wonderful … I like the way how you’ve interpreted this haiku by Kikusha-Ni. And I think you did a great job to it. To me the Morning Glory feels like … earthly life is ending, but will start again.
A simple caress can make many things bloom—even a rose.
Morning Glories
the first gave me a lump in my throat – personal losses, you know….
Masterfully done 🙂
