This week it was very hard to be inspired for some reason. But nevertheless here is my little contribution.
Friday Fictioneers is a wonderful group of bloggers from around the world who every week gather to write a story of 100 words (more or less). If you want to know more, go to Rochelle Wissoff-Fields page and check it out. If you only want to check out the great stories click the little blue guy at the bottom.

Notice: Change of service:
Due to the decreased number of calls made from telephone booths, AT&T is now rolling out a simplex version for a low-cost voice service. In customer service it has been noted that while some people just listens others just talk. To keep the prices affordable, you can now choose the “talk only” or the “listen only” version thereby keeping your expenses at an affordable level.
If you want to both talk and listen we recommend you to either occupy two telephones or get a subscription for a mobile phone.
We are always happy to serve

Sounds like something you could seriously get from some companies!
I’m dead sure it’s coming.
lately, I’d love to be on the other side of “listen only”, especially when I feel like I’m talking and saying nothing.
good thoughts. 🙂
At least there would be one happy customer then 🙂
Haha I love that idea.
I had a problem a couple of weeks ago with my muse as well. It’s back now though 🙂
It’s going up and down, but sometimes it’s just this picture (a great one, though) but I just lacked ideas.
A novel idea!
I’m sure it’s coming
Just too funny Björn. Great idea. In today’s society has a truthful “ring” to it, on several levels, excellent story!
Ha 🙂
Very clever! Loved this–and not a bad idea. Tee hee.
🙂
Wonderful notice!
🙂
I thought this was Friday FICTIONeers…this seems more like an actual notice that could be found on the customer service page of the AT&T website! Clever idea!
Don’t tell anyone, I actually got it from a website. 🙂

Very cute. How about one for those who talk out of both sides of their mouths – or a super low cost one for those who pretend to listen but never do? Randy
Love it.. what business development ideas.
Bad thing is – I can see it happening!!!

Mine:
I think it has happened (at least the final one)
Doesn’t seem that unrealistic does it – scary! Here we had phones that would only work with phonecards for a while – and a few of the traditional ‘red telephone boxes’ are now mini libraries (which I love) – I struggled with this one too – had about 4 ideas but struggled to choose one and get it written.
Ha, yes sometimes you have to come up with something new… and the picture gave me little to start with.
You hit the nail on the head, Bjorn. I know several people who would use the talk-only variety.
They are very common 🙂
that’s really an interesting idea:) fun read
Thank you 🙂

Very amusing! Hopefully, no one from AT&T will read it…or it may become reality!
They probably already have 🙂
This is a light of humor in my morning. Thanks.
Love to bring a smile
This is such a lovely idea. Maybe AT&T could develop a service matching talkers with listeners too to maximise profits.
Wow.. that’s business development.
That last line served some Terry Gilliam realness – loved it!
🙂
Either choice sounds absolutely horrible! Fun story.
Denmother
Thank you 🙂
You darn near got that right! Maybe Ma Bell should be in on this, too.
Anyone still having phone booths
Dear Björn,
For someone who struggled with the prompt this week, I’d say you’ve come out of it on top. A lot of truth in it which is why it’s funny (or tragic).
Shalom,
Rochelle
That was the only thing I saw to make a story of..:-)
That’s fun! 🙂
Thank you
If it saves $$$, I’m for it!
Talking or listening?
I have a vision of the payphones being paired – one for talking, one for listening – but just too far apart for anyone to actually use them both at the same time. 🙂
That’s why getting a cell phone is so much more attractive.
Some who would pay for the listen only feature would be wasting their money.
Brilliant, Bjorn.
And nice to see someone is as big a fan of Corporate head-in-a-dark-place dumbness as AnElephant.
Don’t like to put a link on someone else’s blog (bad manners?) but you might just like this, it is kinda related!

Love links… 🙂
Intersesting how our vocabulary changes with the increase of electronics, especially in regards to telephone communications.
Some folks might just want to listen to the weather, time, news for a few minutes. Maybe that’s what free internet at the local library is for?
Thanks for your visit.
Haha Bjorn! I hope AT&T doesn’t read this. It will give the ideas! 😀 (I think most people would sign up for the talk only! :D)
So cute, and SO scary. What is coming next?
LOLL!! Interesting idea! 🙂
