My sacrifice – 100 WCGU

It’s been a while since I submitted fiction to 100 word Challenge for Grown Ups at Julia’s place

Landscape with moon by Isaac Levitan

The early blueish moonlight made the stones of the old kirkyard cast long shadows. I knew the time was coming once again. Soon horrifying events could be repeated and the blood of innocent victims would be sacrificed.

Only I would be able to stop the massacre.

As I heard the eerie song from the wind blowing through the skeletal branches of the old trees,it tingled as the hairs on my arms stood up.

I knew this was the first sign of the transformation, and I rattled my chains hoping they would hold. Now hunger would dominate my lonely night.

My painful howls greeted the rising moon.

  1. Exciting. I wonder what you are up to. 🙂 The Lord, you know, is bread and wine. Which might be food and drink. But which also is The Son. Bread is the corn sown in the spring. And wine is the final outcome of the vine.
