The pale complexion was her best asset in negotiating the deal, she could sit still and silent for hours and looking just like she had been cut from a slab of marble, no humiliating color even touched the base of her neck, no matter how much they screamed or threatened.
She was dressed in a red dress, and wore her black hair tied back in a no-nonsense ponytail. Knowing she was extremely attractive, she could always get whatever she wanted, a single smile sufficient. She had decided to deny them this for the moment though, knowing that anticipation was a much stronger lure than to flaunt herself.
She just sat and took notes and looked at them with just her small eye movements acknowledging that she was actually listening.
After the lawyers had failed to raise more than an eyebrow as answer from her, the CEO came and pleaded, using all the skills that had convinced so many failing investors before. She smiled her Mona Lisa smile and chuckled. As she touched his hand she saw him flinch from her icy touch.
It was getting close to 2 AM when she finally opened her briefcase and took out 2 folio sheets.
“We accept, these conditions” she said “I just need your signatures”
She produced a gold fountain pen and left them to do the paperwork. When she closed the door she knew that they had won.
As the CEO finally signed the papers for their take-over he was surprised to see that she used red ink in the pen. He also noticed a sharp smell of sulphur and a slight sting of pain as he felt himself drained of blood.

Nice twist of an ending! The paragraph beginning “After lawyers had failed” seems to be missing a word? Thought you could fix it before other readers arrive. Great pen photo!
Thank you… the pen photo I found on Wikimedia Commons though (great source)
Wonderful ending.. A metaphor there!
Thank you 🙂
Cool – extremely hostile takeover meets Harry Potter-esque torture methods! The descriptions of the woman were great, especially the contrast you alluded to between her marble-white skin, the red dress and her black hair
Thank you 🙂
now there’s a funny twist to blood-suckers!
🙂 indeed… a fountain pen…
She’s one cool customer. Not someone I’d like to encounter in any situation, especially not a take over.
Wah. Kudos 🙂
🙂
Interesting and mysterious..loved every colour that you created here!
Thank you
bahahaha that’s so cool. The pale skin, dark hair, and red dress make for a striking image!
A little vampirish maybe 🙂
Nice twist well written.
Thank you 🙂
her ‘pale complexion’, ‘humiliating color’, ‘drained of blood’….you deftly fulfilled the requirement of the challenge..cool!
YES! I so wanted her to be the Devil! That first paragraph is near perfection: … looking just like she had been cut from a slab of marble, no humiliating color even touched the base of her neck… was especially nice.
Well she was up to no good from the get-go. The marble slab, the icy touch. Keep me out of the same room with her!
Great opening line!
One should always read the fine print. Lovely twist at the end. I think that same pen showed up in a story of mine several months ago.;-)
What fabulous writing!Loved the details ,the contrast, the suspense & the cool twist inn the end!Bravo Bjorn!:-)
Nice the way you worked in several references to color.
I do love a powerful, dangerous woman. And the touch of brimstone.
