Trifextra – Burning Letters

Trifextra challenge is to use the words rebellion rain and remember. So here is my 36 word effort.

Melancholy by Constance Marie Charpentier

Melancholy by Constance Marie Charpentier

To remember his deceits is like an eternal rain.
But as sun returns the daylight drives her rues away.
In rebellion she burns his letters of deceitful words
I watch her spreading ashes to the wind.

  1. Very nice! I really like that last line. It’s a great image, and I like how it puts you (the speaker) in the story – it makes it more personal.

  2. Great poem! Thanks too for the photo of a painting by this woman artist. A group of us are compiling a list of historical female artists that has been sidelined or left out of art history books. New one, never heard of this artist. So Thanks Twice.

  3. Wow!Loved this piece!Deceit & betrayal does depress us & feels like eternal rain but thankfully if we can rebel & burn those deceitful words from our memory,we can bask in the Sun(hope) again, beautifully expressed & I love that art:-)
