Carpe Diem prompt today is Mariachi. I’ve chosen to illustrate with a self portrait of Frida Kahlo. Who spent her life as painter in severe inability to move after a traffic accident. Also shared on dverse open link

Loving tribute to Frida Kahlo with your wonderful haiku ~ Carol of A Creative Harbor on blogger ^_^
Thank you.
when you are creative, it’s true, you get a rhythm or a melody stuck in your head and you can’t stop
epideictic rhetoric
All pieces of art comes together.. poetry – music and painting. Thank you for visiting.
nice…i really like the middle one…her expression as music ont he canvas…and the mariachi…very visual to me….very cool….
Thank you. there are so much untapped inspiration in art. And writing a haiku biographies could be something to develop further.
You know, I think you’re probably right: It was the mariachi music within that gave Frida the inspiration to paint as she did.
Old Mariachis
If not the music so at leas the passion symbolized by mariachi.
‘Dancing brush’ … nice line. Your haiku are wonderful and I can see, hear and feel the music of mariachis in it. Chapeau.
Thank you, a very tough prompt for me…
it’s an entirely different approach! great unique set
Thank you kz. it was my way of thinking outside the box
Wow! I never thought about that before. She painted with so much passion, perhaps it WAS her immobility that drew out her art! Great poem.. I found you on dVerse where I posted a ‘non-haiku’ poem.
As she started to paint after her accident, I’m pretty sure it was related to contained passion.
Passion which obviously spilled out on canvas!
Drunk Mariachi
Wonderfully interpreted… and I love Frida Kahlo’s body of work… It works with the Mariachi theme. 🙂
