Carpe Diem Haiku – staff, walking stick

Carpe Diem prompt today is staff or walking stick. The image that come before me is an old man, and what better to use is this self portrait by Hokusai, the artist that made the famous woodblock print of the tsunami with mount Fuji in the background.

  1. They got better and better Bjorn – te 2nd and 3rd were meditive moments…well-worth reading, and had such a real sense of haiku. Some haiku are very good without that ‘real sense’, but with it…then bliss. Your visual always works perfectly my Northern comrade. I don’t think bright photographs I see here and there work so well. In fact, they may take away from the haiku a little..

  2. Very nice haiku set Bjorn … I have read already great haiku on Staff/Walking Stick and I am surprised again by your take on the prompt. And I thought this would be a difficult prompt … 🙂
