Ok, so today the word of Carpe Diem Haiku is my suggestion, and therefore extra challenging. I love the word, and have used it before in my poetry. Photo is my own, but I have used it before.
I give you three individual haiku today.
in her eyes I see
reflected glow of ember
fading into night
~~
ember in his hearth
old man silently prepares
final cup of tea
~~
ember in the sky
orange path across the lake
nocturnal bliss

Thanks for your suggestion, Björn, I also love the word ember (meaning and sound). Your haiku trio is splendid; my fav is the second.
🙂
In my previous comment I forgot to tell you something: when clicking your link for today’s prompt in Carpe Diem it doesn’t direct to this blog but again to Carpe Diem…
A, I will enter again.
I specially like the middle haiku
Thank you 🙂
I enjoyed the ember prompt. The middle haiku here is my favorite. The old man’s final cup of tea. I like wondering if it’s his final cup of tea for the day or really his final cup of tea!
Or maybe it was that he was so poor it was his final cup of tea (which was my thought writing it)
A wonderful suggestion of yours for the prompt, I enjoyed it. And as wonderful set of haiku with the middle one being my favourite. Very genuine and…zen.
Thank you, ember is one of my favorite words…
The first for me “reflected glow of ember” yummy!!!
Thank you very much.
These were absolutely stunning.. all of them so very beautiful.. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you do much
thank you for this suggestion.. it’s a great, interesting topic. and i do like your set. my favorite would have to be the second one! ^^
The word have many possibilities. I liked all creative pictures it can give. Thank you so much.
This was a great prompt and your poems all hit the mark! The second one went straight to my heart.
Thank you so much. I am glad the second one has been so appreciated.
Thank you for suggesting Ember and for showing us what it can become.
I love all three in very different ways. 🙂
Ember is one of my favorite words. And everybody have showed the endless possibilities the word have. Let’s hope it’s not an artwiculate word soon 🙂
Oh, the final cup of tea—how chilling!
Embers
The last line open up plenty of possibilities. Thank you Mark.

I was looking forward to your post, because it’s a suggestion you made for the prompt and … well it was worth waiting. What a wonderful set of haiku. That second gave me the shivers ‘last cup of tea’, but my favorite is for sure the last one.
ember in the sky
orange path across the lake
nocturnal bliss
This one is so pure a haiku. I read a few haiku already with the same imagery of the sun in it … really something to see that more of our contributors have used the sun in their haiku on ’ember’.
Thank you for this prompt and thank you for your daily effort to write and share your haiku with Carpe Diem.
Thank you for those warm words. I am also amazed how many images you can get from that word. I am truly addicted to this now, and just look forward to what can be done with a word.
That last haiku is pure imagery, definitely no camera needed at all. The 2nd is real emotion, and the first, yes, I can imagine er deep eyes…wonderful.
Thank you. Yes that was indeed the intention when I wrote them.
Lyrically haunting haiku! So love the emotive power of the second haiku!
Thank you Gemma 🙂
That middle one is excellent. So many ways to interpret it… Well done.
Thank you. Yes it is truly an open end, I also have to thank you for pulling me into this. It was the September heights that started it for me. 🙂
It was my pleasure!!
all 3 exceptional, as are so many of your haiku….the middle one, however, blew me away…the prompt you suggested has spurred us on to write such lovely haiku, and so varied
Thank you so much. I agree the haiku of today have been excellent.
Very nicely done.
I also like the 2nd one best.
Cheers

A wonderful set Bjorn! The first is my fav as it allows some great times that will follow! Thanks for suggesting a fine prompt!
Hank
Thank you 🙂
I particularly like the third one. It has that ‘summing up’ line at the end that makes it so complete.
